Lab Engineer responsible for operating and maintaining research‑grade synthesis and characterisation equipment, running experiments, and ensuring optimal instrument performance using advanced materials science techniques.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain synthesis and characterisation instruments, ensuring accurate and reproducible results.
- Design and execute experiments, collecting and analysing data to support research objectives.
- Perform routine calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
- Document procedures, results, and maintenance logs in compliance with safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate experimental data into broader research projects.
Requirements
- Strong practical experience with research‑grade laboratory equipment and materials synthesis.
- Proficiency in characterisation techniques such as XRD, SEM, TEM, and spectroscopy.
- Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and troubleshoot instrument issues independently.
- Excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Commitment to safety protocols and maintaining a clean, well‑organized lab environment.
