Software Engineer
Entry‑level programmer analyst supporting pricing and underwriting systems, building data pipelines and analytical tools using Python, SQL and SAS to improve insurance product pricing and risk assessment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain pricing and underwriting applications, ensuring accurate data flow and calculations.
- Write, test, and debug Python and SQL scripts to extract, transform, and load data from internal and external sources.
- Collaborate with actuarial and underwriting teams to translate business rules into automated processes.
- Support data quality initiatives by performing validation, reconciliation, and documentation of pricing models.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, contribute to sprint planning, and track progress using version‑control tools such as Git.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with SAS or similar statistical tools is a plus.
- Understanding of insurance pricing concepts and underwriting workflows.
- Strong analytical mindset with ability to troubleshoot data issues and propose solutions.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, hybrid team environment.
