Systems Engineer
Entry‑level System Engineer focused on IBM mainframe environments, managing RACF security, z/OS operations, and supporting batch and interactive workloads using JCL, COBOL, and Linux tools.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain RACF security policies, user profiles, and access controls across the mainframe environment.
- Develop, test, and troubleshoot JCL scripts for batch processing and job scheduling.
- Support COBOL application maintenance, including code reviews, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Monitor z/OS system health, perform routine maintenance, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams for incident resolution.
- Assist in Linux subsystem administration, including package management, shell scripting, and log analysis.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of IBM mainframe concepts and z/OS architecture.
- Experience with RACF, JCL, and COBOL preferred; Linux familiarity is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills in German and English.
