Systems Engineer
Junior cyber analyst responsible for managing and securing network and system infrastructure, monitoring threats, and supporting Air Force operations using Windows, Linux, firewalls, and SIEM tools.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers, ensuring availability and compliance with security policies.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network devices, firewalls, and routing protocols (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPNs).
- Perform security monitoring and incident response using SIEM platforms and log analysis.
- Develop and execute scripts (PowerShell, Python) for automation, patch management, and system hardening.
- Collaborate with Air Force IT and ISR teams to support mission‑critical communications and resolve technical issues.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Cybersecurity, IT, Computer Science, or equivalent experience (minimum 3 years in network/system administration).
- Hands‑on experience with Windows Server, Linux, firewalls, and TCP/IP networking.
- Familiarity with security monitoring tools (SIEM) and incident response processes.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell or Python for automation.
- Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to pass a polygraph.
