Devops Engineer
Entry‑level engineer responsible for maintaining and supporting critical data center infrastructure, including servers, networks, virtualization platforms, and monitoring tools, using Linux and Python scripting.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of Linux servers and network equipment across data center environments.
- Monitor infrastructure health using tools such as Nagios, Zabbix, or Prometheus and respond to alerts to ensure 100% uptime.
- Support virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper‑V, or KVM) by provisioning, patching, and troubleshooting virtual machines.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts in Python to streamline routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to implement security hardening, backup procedures, and capacity planning.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
- Fundamental knowledge of Linux operating systems and command‑line administration.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching).
- Experience with scripting languages, preferably Python, for automation and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies and monitoring tools; certifications are a plus.
