Technical Writer
Create and maintain clear, accurate documentation for A‑10 Operational Flight Program software, working closely with engineers and program staff to support real‑time, mission‑critical defense systems.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, edit, and maintain user guides, system manuals, and interface documentation for the A‑10 Operational Flight Program.
- Collaborate with software engineers, equipment specialists, and program managers to gather technical information and verify accuracy.
- Ensure documentation complies with DoD standards, configuration management procedures, and contract requirements.
- Maintain version control of all deliverables using tools such as IBM DOORS, SharePoint, or equivalent.
- Conduct peer reviews and incorporate feedback to improve clarity and usability of technical content.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience producing technical documentation for aerospace or defense software projects.
- Proficiency with documentation tools (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe FrameMaker, DOORS) and familiarity with configuration management processes.
- Strong ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise language for diverse audiences.
- Experience working in a team environment with engineers and subject‑matter experts, preferably on real‑time or mission‑critical systems.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain any required security clearance.
