Systems Engineer
Journeyman MBSE Systems Engineer supporting the Future Advanced Capability program, applying model‑based engineering, SysML, and simulation tools to design and evaluate naval combat aircraft systems.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Apply Model‑Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods to define, analyze, and validate requirements for the Collaborative Combat Aircraft program.
- Develop and maintain system models using SysML and IBM DOORS, ensuring traceability across the lifecycle.
- Perform simulation, analysis, and verification activities with MATLAB and C++ to assess performance of weapon and avionics subsystems.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate hardware, software, and mission requirements, producing technical reports and design documentation.
- Support test planning, execution, and post‑test analysis, providing recommendations for design improvements.
Requirements
- Top Secret/SCI eligibility and a security clearance suitable for handling classified naval projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field with at least 2 years of MBSE experience.
- Proficiency in SysML modeling, IBM DOORS, and simulation tools such as MATLAB.
- Strong programming skills in C++ for model development and data analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to work on‑site at Patuxent River Naval Air Station and coordinate with government program offices.
