Software Engineer
Designs and implements security architecture for SCADA and OT environments, ensuring regulatory compliance, data protection, and alignment with overall IT security strategy while collaborating with water reclamation and IT teams.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain security architecture patterns for SCADA and OT systems, ensuring compliance with regulatory and data‑protection requirements.
- Design network segmentation, firewall policies, and secure communication channels between OT and IT domains.
- Implement identity and access management controls, including role‑based access and privileged account management for critical infrastructure.
- Conduct risk assessments, threat modeling, and vulnerability analyses specific to water reclamation and utility environments.
- Collaborate with Water Reclamation System engineers and IT staff to integrate security controls into operational processes and incident response plans.
- Provide technical guidance, documentation, and training to stakeholders on OT security best practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience designing security solutions for SCADA, OT, or industrial control systems.
- Strong knowledge of network segmentation, firewalls, VPNs, and secure protocol implementation in OT environments.
- Proficiency with identity and access management frameworks and privileged access solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to perform risk assessments, threat modeling, and compliance mapping (e.g., NERC CIP, IEC 62443).
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GICSP, or equivalent are preferred.
