Systems Engineer
The IT Systems Engineer designs, implements, and supports enterprise Windows and Linux infrastructures, virtualization platforms, and cloud services while ensuring reliable network operations and automation.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain Windows Server and Linux environments supporting research and clinical applications.
- Manage virtualization platforms (VMware or Hyper‑V) to provision, monitor, and optimize virtual machines.
- Administer network services, including DNS, DHCP, VPN, and firewall configurations.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell and Bash to streamline system administration tasks.
- Integrate and support cloud resources (AWS or Azure) for scalable compute and storage needs.
- Provide tier‑2/3 troubleshooting, incident response, and performance tuning for critical systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Windows Server, Linux, and virtualization technologies.
- Proficiency in PowerShell and Bash scripting for automation and configuration management.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts and experience with firewalls, VPNs, DNS, and DHCP.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and ITIL‑based service management processes.
