Systems Engineer
Senior IT Systems Administrator responsible for managing, securing, and troubleshooting Windows server environments, virtualization, Active Directory, and Office 365 for multiple state offices.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows Server infrastructure, including patching, performance tuning, and backup/recovery.
- Manage Active Directory objects, Group Policy, and authentication services across all state offices.
- Deploy, monitor, and troubleshoot VMware virtual machines and related networking components.
- Develop and execute PowerShell scripts for automation of routine tasks and reporting.
- Implement and enforce security best practices, including vulnerability remediation, firewall rule management, and incident response.
- Provide Tier‑2 support for Office 365 services, email, and collaboration tools.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience with Windows Server and Active Directory administration.
- Proven expertise in VMware virtualization and network configuration.
- Strong scripting skills in PowerShell for automation and system management.
- Solid understanding of security principles, patch management, and incident handling.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a small, cross‑trained team.
