Systems Engineer
Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of secure, high‑availability IT infrastructure across on‑premises, cloud, and data centre environments, driving automation and performance improvements for a growing family‑owned business.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage Windows and Linux servers, ensuring high availability and performance across office, project site, and data centre environments.
- Administer VMware virtual infrastructure and orchestrate cloud deployments on AWS, including networking, storage, and security controls.
- Maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management, automating routine tasks with PowerShell scripts.
- Implement and monitor security solutions, perform vulnerability assessments, and enforce compliance with industry best practices.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on TechnologyOne ERP implementation and other strategic technology initiatives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration with a strong focus on Windows, Linux, and virtualization.
- Proven expertise in VMware vSphere, AWS services (EC2, S3, VPC), and PowerShell scripting.
- Solid understanding of network protocols, security principles, and Active Directory.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
