Systems Engineer
Provide 2nd/3rd line on‑site IT support for multiple South London locations, handling incidents, service requests, hardware roll‑outs and problem resolution using Windows, Active Directory and networking expertise.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 2nd and 3rd line technical support on‑site across multiple sites, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software and network issues.
- Manage incident tickets and service requests, ensuring timely escalation and communication with the central IT team.
- Assist with the deployment, configuration and maintenance of Windows workstations, servers, Microsoft 365 services and peripheral devices.
- Perform routine checks and updates of Active Directory, group policies and network infrastructure components.
- Support technology roll‑outs, migrations and investigations, providing documentation and knowledge transfer to junior staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience in 2nd/3rd line IT support, preferably in a field‑engineer or on‑site role.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Microsoft 365 and common networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
- Hands‑on experience with hardware troubleshooting, imaging, and peripheral installation.
- Familiarity with ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA) and basic scripting (PowerShell or batch).
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a wider IT team.
