IT Specialist Systems Administration - National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage Windows Server and Linux systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Configure and maintain network services, firewalls, and VPNs to support secure remote access.
• Implement virtualization solutions (VMware, Hyper‑V) and cloud services (AWS, Azure) for scalable infrastructure.
• Automate routine tasks and configuration management using PowerShell and Bash scripts.
• Monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and apply patches and updates in a timely manner.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to support application deployments and infrastructure upgrades.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in systems administration for enterprise environments.
• Proficiency with Windows Server, Linux distributions, and networking protocols.
• Experience with virtualization platforms and cloud services (AWS/Azure).
• Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Bash, with a focus on automation and documentation.
