Software Engineer
IT Specialist responsible for managing and securing network and system infrastructure, providing technical support, and ensuring compliance with cybersecurity policies for a federal mission environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, monitor, and maintain Windows and Linux servers, network devices, and related infrastructure.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity controls, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to incidents.
- Provide tier‑2/3 technical support to end users, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and manage service tickets.
- Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and configuration changes in accordance with ITIL/ITSM processes.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and security compliance evidence for audits.
Requirements
- Experience with network administration (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and system administration on Windows Server and Linux platforms.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, RMF) and hands‑on experience with security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM).
- Proficiency in scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash) for routine tasks.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.
