IT Specialist focused on policy planning and cyber operations, supporting DoD Cyber Command with network security, risk management, incident response, and compliance to Department of Defense directives and regulations.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement cybersecurity policies and procedures aligned with DoD Instruction 1400.25 and related statutes.
- Monitor, analyze, and respond to cyber incidents affecting U.S. Cyber Command networks and systems.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and mitigation planning for mission‑critical information systems.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to ensure network security architecture meets operational requirements and compliance standards.
- Provide technical guidance and training on cyber policy, security best practices, and incident handling to personnel.
Requirements
- Active DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) eligibility and ability to obtain a Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- Demonstrated experience in cybersecurity, network security, and incident response within a federal or defense environment.
- Strong knowledge of DoD policies, directives, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF).
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies, and document security controls.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills to support mission‑critical cyber operations.
