Software Engineer
Skilled IT Specialist responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure network infrastructure, including Cisco routing/switching, firewalls, VPNs, and server platforms to support mission‑critical operations.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and maintain Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls to ensure reliable, high‑performance network connectivity.
- Implement and manage VPN solutions and secure remote‑access for users across multiple sites.
- Monitor network health using tools such as SolarWinds or PRTG, troubleshoot incidents, and perform root‑cause analysis.
- Administer Windows Server and Linux systems for network services (DHCP, DNS, Active Directory, NTP).
- Develop and enforce network security policies, conduct vulnerability assessments, and apply patches and firmware updates.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to plan and execute infrastructure upgrades and migrations.
Requirements
- Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Cisco networking equipment and routing/switching protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
- Proficiency in network security concepts, firewall configuration, and VPN technologies.
- Experience administering Windows Server and Linux operating systems in an enterprise environment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, and effective communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
