Network-focused IT Specialist responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining secure LAN/WAN infrastructures, managing Windows Server environments, and ensuring reliable VPN connectivity for Army National Guard operations.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain LAN/WAN networks, ensuring high availability and performance for mission-critical applications.
- Configure and manage Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Implement and troubleshoot VPN solutions to provide secure remote access for field units.
- Monitor network performance, analyze logs, and proactively resolve connectivity issues.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce network security policies and conduct vulnerability assessments.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps for knowledge base updates.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in network administration and Windows Server management.
- Proficiency with Cisco networking equipment, routing, switching, and VPN technologies.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure in a mission‑critical environment.
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to maintaining operational security.
