About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive security assessments and audits of DHS IT systems to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with federal standards.
- Develop and implement incident response plans, coordinate investigations, and provide actionable recommendations to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate security controls into new and existing projects, ensuring alignment with agency policies.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations for senior leadership, highlighting findings, remediation status, and strategic security improvements.
- Stay current on emerging threats, regulatory changes, and best practices in information security to proactively protect agency assets.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in cybersecurity, risk assessment, or audit roles within a federal or large enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of NIST, ISO 27001, and DHS security frameworks.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, mission‑critical setting.
