IT Specialist (InfoSec) responsible for protecting mission‑critical systems, managing security controls, and responding to incidents within a National Guard environment. Requires strong cybersecurity, network security, and risk assessment expertise.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Implement, monitor, and maintain security controls across all IT assets to safeguard sensitive data and mission‑critical operations.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analyses to identify and remediate security gaps.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and compliance frameworks in alignment with federal and state regulations.
- Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, eradication, and recovery of security incidents.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate security best practices into system design and deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in cybersecurity roles, preferably within a government or defense environment.
- Proficiency with security tools (e.g., SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners) and knowledge of network protocols and operating systems.
- Strong understanding of risk management, compliance standards (NIST, ISO 27001), and incident response frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented setting.
