IT Specialist Customer Support / Information Security - Commander, Navy Installations Command

Key Responsibilities

• Provide tier‑1 and tier‑2 technical support to end users, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
• Implement and maintain information security controls, including patch management, antivirus, and access management.
• Assist in the development and enforcement of IT policies, procedures, and security standards.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot complex incidents and conduct root‑cause analysis.
• Document support activities, create knowledge‑base articles, and maintain accurate ticketing records.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in IT support or help‑desk environments.
• Solid understanding of information security principles and best practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical users.
• Proficiency with Windows, macOS, and common enterprise software suites.
