Security Engineer
IT Security Engineer responsible for protecting the organization’s IT environment, monitoring and responding to security events, enforcing policies, and collaborating with infrastructure and software teams to maintain robust security controls.
As an IT Security Engineer (m/f/d), you will be responsible for strengthening and protecting our organization's IT environment against evolving cyber threats. You will work closely with infrastructure, software, and operational teams to design, implement, and maintain security controls that ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of our systems and data. What is your Day to Day Mission:
Monitor, analyze, and respond to security events, alerts, and incidents
Develop and enforce security policies in collaboration with internal stakeholders, taking into account industry-specific compliance requirements
Perform system hardening and security baseline management for servers, endpoints, and critical infrastructure components.
Support the deployment and administration of security solutions such as Endpoint Detection & Response (EDR), SIEM, vulnerability management, and identity security platforms.
Design, implementation, and operation of firewall infrastructures using Fortinet and Sophos technologies.
Manage and improve access control concepts, identity management processes, and privileged access security.
Support for audits and certifications in accordance with industry-specific security standards (e.g., BSI Basic Protection, ISO/IEC 27001)
IT Collaboration with national and international subsidiaries
Investigate emerging threats, evaluate new security technologies, and contribute to the continuous enhancement of our cybersecurity posture.
Support for user network issues.
Create and maintain documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
What you bring to the team:
A degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, Information Technology, or a comparable qualification. A plus would be CCNA, CompTIA+
Professional experience in IT security, system administration, infrastructure engineering.
Good understanding of cybersecurity principles, attack vectors, threat detection, and incident response processes.
Hands-on experience with security technologies such as EDR/XDR, SIEM, vulnerability scanners, firewalls, or identity and access management solutions.
Knowledge of Windows environments; experience with Linux systems is highly desirable.
Familiarity with Microsoft 365 security services, Entra ID, Intune, and cloud security concepts.
Work with cloud security tools like Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure Security Center
Understanding of networking, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls, and network segmentation.
