Security Engineer
Implement and maintain security controls, monitor threats, and ensure compliance across network, cloud, and application environments using tools like firewalls, SIEM, and scripting.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and manage firewalls, VPNs, and other network security devices.
- Monitor security events using SIEM platforms and respond to incidents promptly.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and remediation planning.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Automate security tasks and reporting with scripting languages such as Python.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to embed security best practices into cloud and on‑premise architectures.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of network security concepts, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPN technologies.
- Hands‑on experience with SIEM tools and incident response processes.
- Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Python) for automation and analysis.
- Familiarity with cloud security (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and related compliance frameworks.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or equivalent are a plus.
