Security Engineer
IT Security Analyst responsible for monitoring security controls, developing policies, and coordinating incident response and security projects to ensure agency systems remain protected and compliant.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and evaluate internal IT security controls to verify effectiveness and alignment with best‑practice frameworks.
- Develop, publish, and maintain security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
- Coordinate and execute security‑related projects, ensuring timely delivery and stakeholder alignment.
- Lead response activities for information security incidents, including containment, investigation, and post‑incident reporting.
- Conduct risk assessments and compliance reviews to identify gaps and recommend remediation.
- Utilize security monitoring tools (e.g., SIEM) to detect, analyze, and report potential threats.
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in information security or related field.
- Hands‑on experience with incident response processes and security monitoring platforms.
- Proven ability to write and maintain security policies and compliance documentation.
- Strong analytical skills for risk assessment and vulnerability evaluation.
- Effective communication and limited leadership skills to guide junior team members.
