Security Engineer
Entry‑level security analyst supporting daily security operations, monitoring, and compliance tasks. Works with senior staff to protect systems and data using SIEM tools, vulnerability scans, and incident response procedures.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor security alerts and events using SIEM platforms, escalating incidents according to defined procedures.
- Perform routine vulnerability scans, assist in patch validation, and track remediation progress.
- Support incident response activities, including initial triage, documentation, and coordination with senior analysts.
- Maintain and update security policies, standards, and procedural documentation to align with GLBA, FFIEC, and internal requirements.
- Generate regular security metrics and reports for management and compliance audits.
- Assist with user access reviews, configuration audits, and other day‑to‑day security administration tasks.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Fundamental understanding of network security concepts, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and encryption.
- Hands‑on experience with at least one SIEM tool (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, ArcSight) and vulnerability scanning solutions.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as GLBA and FFIEC, and ability to follow documented security processes.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills; ability to work under supervision and follow defined procedures.
