Software Engineer
Lead IT projects across the I&T Directorate, applying Agile and PMP principles to deliver secure, cost‑effective solutions while managing stakeholders, risks, and budgets.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, execute, and close IT projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and compliance with DoD regulations.
- Apply Agile frameworks to manage project backlogs, sprints, and deliverables, facilitating continuous improvement.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams, including developers, analysts, and security specialists, to meet project milestones.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks, maintaining risk registers and contingency plans.
- Prepare and monitor project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
- Communicate progress, issues, and outcomes to senior leadership and stakeholders through status reports and presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of IT project management experience, preferably in a federal or defense environment.
- PMP or equivalent certification required.
- Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and project management tools (Jira, MS Project).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
