Software Engineer
Provide on‑site 1st and 2nd line IT support across Oxford and South UK, handling Windows environments, networking, and hardware issues while delivering exceptional customer service.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver 1st and 2nd line on‑site support for Windows Server, desktop, and networking infrastructure.
- Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware components such as servers, workstations, printers, and networking devices.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies in Active Directory.
- Provide remote assistance using ticketing and remote‑control tools when on‑site presence is not required.
- Document incidents, resolutions, and maintain accurate service records.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a field service or desktop support role, preferably within a managed services environment.
- Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems, Windows Server, and Active Directory.
- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN, and basic networking equipment.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly to non‑technical users.
- Valid UK driver’s licence and willingness to travel regionally.
