Technical professional to support the Missile Defense Agency by designing, analyzing, and delivering space‑based sensing systems throughout the full lifecycle, using systems engineering, architecture, and software development expertise.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the definition and evolution of system architecture for space‑based missile defense sensors.
- Conduct trade studies, analysis, and prototyping to validate concepts and inform design decisions.
- Develop and maintain model‑based system engineering artifacts, including requirements, interfaces, and verification plans.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate hardware, software, and data processing components.
- Support transition of designs from concept through development, test, and operational deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering or architecture for space or defense programs.
- Proficiency with model‑based systems engineering tools and languages (e.g., SysML, MATLAB/Simulink).
- Strong analytical skills; ability to perform trade studies and risk assessments.
- Experience with C++ or similar programming languages for simulation and prototype development.
