Software Engineer
Senior analyst driving HR and payroll system excellence, configuring Ellucian Banner, ensuring compliance, and delivering data‑rich reports for ECU and UNC System stakeholders.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
Act as the primary functional and technical liaison between ECU functional offices (HR, Payroll, Benefits, Budget) and ITCS for the Ellucian Banner HR/Payroll system.
Analyze, document, and optimize business processes, translating requirements into Banner configuration changes and enhancements.
Configure and support Banner HR/Payroll modules, ensuring accurate payroll processing and compliance with State of North Carolina and UNC System regulations.
Develop and maintain SQL‑based reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights to stakeholders.
Collaborate with functional users to troubleshoot issues, provide training, and drive continuous improvement.
Participate in system upgrades, testing, and change management activities to minimize downtime and maintain data integrity.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in HRIS or payroll system analysis, preferably with Ellucian Banner.
Strong business analysis skills with the ability to translate complex requirements into technical solutions.
Proficiency in SQL and report development tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Knowledge of North Carolina payroll regulations and UNC System policies is a plus.
