Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with NYC DOT stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and document functional and technical requirements for mission‑critical transportation applications.
Create process models, use case diagrams, and data flow diagrams using UML to visualize system behavior and support design decisions.
Maintain and prioritize the product backlog in Jira, ensuring alignment with Agile sprint cycles and project timelines.
Conduct gap analyses, impact assessments, and feasibility studies to guide solution design and implementation.
Support testing activities, including test case development, user acceptance testing coordination, and defect tracking.
Produce clear documentation—business requirements, functional specifications, and user guides—to facilitate smooth hand‑offs to development and operations teams.
Requirements
3+ years of experience as an IT Business Analyst in large‑scale, public‑sector or transportation projects.
Proficiency with SQL for data extraction, analysis, and reporting.
Strong knowledge of Agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban) and hands‑on experience using Jira or similar tools.
Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with a proven ability to translate business needs into technical specifications.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
