Inverse Methods and Ionospheric Modelling Research Fellow - University of Birmingham

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement inverse‑problem algorithms for ionospheric data interpretation.
• Conduct research on radio science and space weather phenomena.
• Analyse and assimilate multi‑source datasets using Python and MATLAB.
• Publish findings in peer‑reviewed journals and present at international conferences.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams within the SERENE group.

Requirements

• PhD in atmospheric physics, space science, or related field.
• Strong background in inverse methods and data assimilation.
• Proficiency in Python and MATLAB for scientific computing.
• Experience with ionospheric or radio propagation modelling.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently.
