Embedded Systems Engineer
Hardware Engineer Intern focused on designing and improving Wave Relay products for DOD customers, leveraging PCB, FPGA, and embedded system expertise to deliver robust, high‑performance solutions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with systems engineers to translate customer requirements into detailed hardware specifications.
- Design, prototype, and test PCBs using Altium Designer, ensuring signal integrity and compliance with industry standards.
- Develop and validate FPGA firmware and embedded software for Wave Relay product lines.
- Conduct simulations and perform failure mode analysis to optimize product reliability.
- Assist in manufacturing support, including BOM creation, component sourcing, and production test procedures.
- Document design decisions, test results, and provide technical support during field deployments.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Strong foundation in digital logic design, PCB layout, and embedded systems.
- Experience with FPGA development tools (Vivado, Quartus) and firmware programming (C/C++).
- Familiarity with signal integrity concepts and simulation tools (SPICE, ADS).
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and effective communication.
