Strategic IP Analyst responsible for extracting insights from patent data, building analytical models, and delivering visual reports to support technology and business decisions.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Collect, clean, and structure large patent and technical literature datasets from global sources.
- Develop and maintain analytical models using Python, SQL, and machine‑learning techniques to identify trends, competitive gaps, and emerging technologies.
- Create interactive dashboards and visualizations in Tableau to communicate findings to R&D, product, and leadership teams.
- Provide actionable IP insights that influence technology road‑maps, licensing strategies, and innovation investments.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate IP intelligence into broader business analytics workflows.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or higher degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in patent analytics, IP research, or technology intelligence.
- Proficiency in Python (pandas, scikit‑learn) and SQL for data extraction and analysis.
- Hands‑on experience building dashboards and visual reports with Tableau or similar BI tools.
- Strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and ability to translate complex technical data into clear business insights.
