Experienced Integration Engineer to design, install, and modernize mission‑critical shipboard systems for U.S. Navy vessels, leveraging C++, embedded hardware, and MIL‑STD processes.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain SHIPALT, TEMPALT, and OPALT technical data packages for shipboard platform alterations.
- Design, install, and integrate hardware and software subsystems on U.S. Navy vessels, ensuring compliance with MIL‑STD and naval architecture requirements.
- Perform system integration testing, troubleshoot anomalies, and validate performance against mission specifications.
- Coordinate with cross‑functional engineering teams, shipyard personnel, and Navy stakeholders to manage configuration control and documentation.
- Support modernization initiatives by evaluating emerging technologies and recommending upgrades to existing shipboard systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of shipboard or defense integration experience.
- Proficiency in C++ and embedded systems development, including real‑time operating systems.
- Demonstrated knowledge of MIL‑STD (e.g., 810, 461) and naval installation standards.
- Experience with configuration management tools and documentation control for complex hardware/software projects.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills in a high‑security, fast‑paced environment.
