Systems Engineer
Lead the design, integration, and deployment of advanced sensor and signal infrastructure for a next‑generation fusion device, ensuring robust data acquisition, real‑time control, and seamless system integration using PLC, SCADA, and Python.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Specify and design sensor arrays and signal conditioning circuits for high‑precision plasma diagnostics.
- Develop and maintain PLC and SCADA logic for real‑time data acquisition and control of experimental hardware.
- Integrate data streams into centralized databases, ensuring time‑stamped, high‑resolution logging for post‑experiment analysis.
- Collaborate with control, software, and hardware teams to validate system performance against experimental requirements.
- Document design specifications, test procedures, and troubleshooting guides for long‑term maintainability.
Requirements
- BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field with 5+ years of instrumentation system design experience.
- Proficiency in PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen‑Bradley) and SCADA platforms.
- Strong background in signal processing, data acquisition hardware, and sensor calibration.
- Experience with Python for data handling, automation, and visualization.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, interdisciplinary environment.
