Software Engineer
Provides comprehensive IT support and infrastructure management, ensuring reliable network operations, secure systems, and efficient desktop services for a large research and museum environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP services.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize campus-wide network infrastructure, switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity policies, conduct vulnerability assessments, and respond to security incidents.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts for automation of routine tasks, system provisioning, and reporting.
- Manage virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware or Hyper‑V) to support server consolidation and disaster‑recovery solutions.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience in Windows Server administration and enterprise networking.
- Strong knowledge of security best practices, firewalls, and incident response.
- Proficiency in PowerShell or similar scripting languages for automation.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper‑V.
- Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills, with the ability to support a diverse user community.
