Security Engineer
Lead the protection of federal law‑making environments by designing, implementing, and managing cybersecurity controls, conducting risk assessments, and responding to incidents across network, system, and data domains.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain security architecture and controls for federal law enforcement training environments.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to identify and remediate security gaps.
- Lead incident response activities, including investigation, containment, and recovery of security events.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations (FISMA, NIST SP 800‑53) and internal security policies.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate security into system design and deployment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in cybersecurity roles within federal or high‑security environments.
- Strong knowledge of NIST frameworks, threat intelligence, and security best practices.
- Hands‑on experience with SIEM, IDS/IPS, firewalls, and endpoint protection.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative, mission‑critical setting.
