Mid‑level IT Specialist responsible for managing Windows and virtual environments, administering Active Directory, automating tasks with PowerShell, and supporting Cisco network infrastructure for a state agency.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows Server platforms, including patching, performance tuning, and security hardening.
- Manage Active Directory objects, group policies, and authentication services across the organization.
- Develop and maintain PowerShell scripts to automate routine operational tasks and improve service delivery.
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) to ensure reliable connectivity.
- Support VMware vSphere environments, handling VM provisioning, migration, and resource optimization.
- Provide Tier‑2 technical support, resolve incidents, and document solutions in the ticketing system.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience with Windows Server and Active Directory administration.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting for automation and reporting.
- Experience managing Cisco network devices and basic routing/switching concepts.
- Solid understanding of VMware vSphere virtualization technologies.
- Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
