Software Engineer
Entry‑level IT Specialist providing desktop, server and network support, managing user accounts, troubleshooting hardware/software issues, and ensuring security compliance within a government environment.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first‑line technical support for Windows workstations, laptops, and peripheral devices.
- Administer Active Directory accounts, group policies, and access permissions.
- Maintain and troubleshoot LAN/WAN connectivity, including switches, routers, and VPN connections.
- Install, configure, and update software applications, including Microsoft Office 365 and security patches.
- Document incidents, resolutions, and knowledge‑base articles in the ticketing system.
- Assist with hardware repairs, imaging, and deployment of new equipment.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years of hands‑on experience supporting Windows operating systems and Active Directory.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with ability to diagnose network and hardware issues.
- Familiarity with IT security best practices and basic firewall/VPN concepts.
- Excellent communication skills and customer‑service orientation.
