Software Engineer
Provides technical support and system administration for federal IT environments, managing Windows and Linux servers, network infrastructure, and security controls while ensuring compliance with government standards.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and maintain Windows Server and Linux operating systems across multiple sites.
- Manage Active Directory objects, group policies, and user access controls.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network devices, firewalls, and VPN connections to ensure reliable connectivity.
- Implement security measures, conduct vulnerability assessments, and apply patches in accordance with federal guidelines.
- Provide tier‑2 technical support, resolve incidents, and document solutions in the service desk system.
Requirements
- Experience with Windows Server (2012/2016/2019) and Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu) administration.
- Strong knowledge of networking concepts, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies.
- Proficiency in Active Directory management and group policy implementation.
- Understanding of cybersecurity best practices, vulnerability management, and incident response.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required for federal positions.
