Software Engineer
Provides enterprise‑level IT infrastructure support, overseeing cloud, network, and security solutions while coordinating projects and strategy across global diplomatic technology centers.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cloud and on‑premises infrastructure to meet the agency’s global technology roadmap.
- Manage network architecture, including routing, switching, and WAN optimization for diplomatic sites worldwide.
- Lead infrastructure projects, coordinating with cross‑functional teams to ensure timely delivery and compliance with budgetary constraints.
- Monitor and enhance cybersecurity controls, performing risk assessments and incident response for critical systems.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to regional technology centers, ensuring consistent standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field with 5+ years of enterprise infrastructure experience.
- Proven expertise in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V).
- Strong background in network engineering, including Cisco routing/switching and WAN technologies.
- Demonstrated project management skills, preferably with PMP or equivalent certification.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001) and experience implementing security controls.
