Software Engineer
Lead the development and implementation of cyber workforce standards to support mission-critical IT, network, and communications operations across the Department of Defense, ensuring alignment with national security objectives.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and enforce cyber workforce standards that align with DoD mission requirements and policy directives.
- Collaborate with IT, network, and communications teams to integrate cybersecurity best practices into command and control, electromagnetic spectrum, and PNT systems.
- Conduct risk assessments and provide guidance on mitigating cyber threats to critical infrastructure.
- Lead training and certification initiatives to elevate cyber competency across the workforce.
- Monitor compliance, report on performance metrics, and recommend improvements to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in cybersecurity, network operations, or related DoD environments.
- Strong knowledge of DoD cyber policies, standards, and frameworks (NIST, DoD 8570, etc.).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage complex projects.
