Security Engineer
Design, implement, and secure mission‑critical systems for national security using DevSecOps practices, cloud services, and low‑level programming, ensuring compliance with DoD security standards.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and harden secure software components in Python and C++ for Air Force mission systems.
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines that integrate security testing and automated compliance checks.
- Implement containerized environments on AWS, applying best‑in‑class DevSecOps practices.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, and risk mitigation for classified and unclassified networks.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineers to integrate security controls throughout the system development lifecycle.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field with 3+ years of experience in secure software development.
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and Linux system administration.
- Hands‑on experience with AWS services, container platforms (Docker/Kubernetes), and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Strong knowledge of DoD security frameworks (RMF, STIGs) and vulnerability management.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, high‑impact environment.
