Security Engineer
Secure Navy land‑based test facilities and vessels by designing, implementing, and maintaining cyber hygiene practices within the RMF framework, ensuring compliance and resilience against evolving threats.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and maintain cybersecurity controls for land‑based test facilities and Navy vessels in alignment with the Risk Management Framework (RMF).
- Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and security configuration reviews to identify and remediate risks.
- Develop and enforce cyber hygiene policies, procedures, and training programs for technical and non‑technical personnel.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate security into system design, development, and deployment lifecycles.
- Monitor security events, analyze incidents, and coordinate response activities to mitigate threats.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience with RMF processes and documentation (e.g., NIST SP 800‑37).
- Strong knowledge of network security, operating system hardening, and secure configuration management.
- Hands‑on experience with vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and incident response tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a mission‑critical environment.
