Information Security Specialist responsible for strengthening the organization’s security posture across systems, applications, and cloud environments, focusing on risk assessment, vulnerability remediation, monitoring, and incident response using AWS and industry best practices.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct risk assessments and security reviews for new and existing applications, infrastructure, and cloud services.
- Implement and manage vulnerability scanning, patching processes, and remediation tracking.
- Monitor security events, analyze alerts, and lead incident response activities to contain and remediate threats.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with regulatory and industry frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, HIPAA).
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to embed security controls into CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments, primarily on AWS.
Requirements
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience in information security, risk management, or related roles.
- Proficiency with vulnerability management tools, SIEM platforms, and incident response workflows.
- Strong understanding of cloud security concepts and practical experience securing AWS environments.
- Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as ISO 27001, HIPAA, or NIST.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
