Software Engineer
Protect and defend information systems by implementing security controls, conducting risk assessments, and responding to incidents, leveraging expertise in network security, vulnerability management, and NIST/RMF compliance.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain security policies, procedures, and technical controls to safeguard classified and unclassified information systems.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and security audits in accordance with NIST RMF and other applicable standards.
- Monitor security events, analyze incidents, and coordinate rapid response and remediation activities.
- Provide guidance and training to personnel on security best practices, secure configuration, and threat awareness.
- Maintain documentation of system configurations, security posture, and compliance evidence for audits and inspections.
Requirements
- Active Secret (or higher) security clearance and eligibility to obtain/maintain it.
- 3+ years of experience in information security, preferably within a government or defense environment.
- Hands‑on experience with network security tools (firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM) and vulnerability management platforms.
- Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800‑53, RMF, and other federal cybersecurity frameworks.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Security+, or CEH are highly desirable.
