Software Engineer
The Information Analyst transforms raw health system data into actionable reports, dashboards, and analytical tools, supporting operational performance, cost management, and quality of care through close collaboration with department leaders.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau and Power BI to support clinical and administrative decision‑making.
- Extract, clean, and manipulate large datasets from electronic health records, financial systems, and other sources using SQL and Python.
- Partner with department directors and senior leaders to identify analytics needs, define metrics, and translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Perform ad‑hoc data analysis to uncover trends, root causes, and opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvement.
- Document data definitions, reporting processes, and best practices to ensure consistency and reproducibility across the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field; 2+ years of experience in a healthcare analytics role.
- Proficiency in SQL for data extraction and manipulation, and experience with Python for data cleaning and analysis.
- Strong hands‑on experience building visualizations and dashboards in Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex analytical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.
- Knowledge of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and regulatory reporting standards (e.g., HIPAA, CMS).
