Design, implement, and maintain high‑voltage substation SCADA and metering solutions, leveraging IEC 61850, DNP3, and PLC programming to ensure reliable, real‑time monitoring and control of critical power assets.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and configure SCADA architecture for high‑voltage substations, integrating IEC 61850 and DNP3 communication protocols.
- Design, program, and commission PLC‑based control and metering devices to support real‑time data acquisition and automation.
- Collaborate with transmission engineers to create detailed HV substation schematics, one‑line diagrams, and protection settings.
- Perform system testing, validation, and troubleshooting to guarantee data integrity, cybersecurity compliance, and operational reliability.
- Provide technical support and training to operations staff, creating documentation and standard operating procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with 3+ years of experience in substation automation.
- Proficiency in SCADA platforms, IEC 61850, DNP3, and PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen‑Bradley).
- Strong understanding of high‑voltage power systems, protection schemes, and metering technologies.
- Experience with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar for substation design.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills, ability to work in multidisciplinary teams, and effective communication of technical concepts.
