Lead the integration of human‑centered design into complex control systems, ensuring safety, usability, and operator alignment for safety‑critical engineering programs.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Apply human‑centered design principles to the development of control system interfaces and workflows.
- Conduct usability testing, cognitive workload analysis, and ergonomic assessments for operators and maintainers.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, and safety specialists to embed ergonomic requirements into design specifications.
- Develop and maintain human factors documentation, including task analyses, error modes, and usability metrics.
- Advise on safety‑critical design decisions, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in usability engineering or human factors for control systems or safety‑critical environments.
- Strong knowledge of human‑centered design methodologies, cognitive ergonomics, and usability testing techniques.
- Experience with safety standards (e.g., IEC 61508, ISO 13849) and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to translate technical requirements into user‑friendly solutions.
