Lead the design, development, and maintenance of health information technology integrations, leveraging HL7, FHIR, and API standards to connect disparate systems and ensure secure, compliant data exchange.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain integration solutions between federal health systems using HL7 v2/v3 and FHIR standards.
- Implement secure API endpoints and data transformation logic to support real‑time data exchange.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define integration requirements, test plans, and deployment strategies.
- Monitor and troubleshoot integration workflows, ensuring high availability and compliance with privacy regulations.
- Document integration architecture, data flows, and operational procedures for future maintenance.
Requirements
- Proven experience with HL7 and FHIR integration projects in a healthcare or government environment.
- Strong programming skills in Java or .NET, with familiarity in SQL database design and querying.
- Knowledge of secure data exchange protocols (TLS, OAuth) and healthcare data privacy regulations (HIPAA).
- Excellent problem‑solving abilities and effective communication with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
