Health Systems Specialist supports Health Professions Education programs, driving data‑driven quality improvement, program evaluation, and compliance with VHA and OAA standards to enhance trainee care delivery.
About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate health professions education (HPE) programs, ensuring alignment with VHA academic mission and OAA strategic goals.
- Collect, analyze, and report on program metrics, using data analytics to inform continuous improvement and evidence‑based decision making.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives, developing and monitoring key performance indicators for trainee care delivery and educational outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with federal regulations, VHA policies, and accreditation standards through rigorous documentation and audit preparation.
- Collaborate with clinical educators, program directors, and IT teams to integrate health informatics tools and improve data capture processes.
- Provide training and support to faculty and staff on program requirements, data systems, and best practices in health professions education.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Education, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in health professions education, program evaluation, or quality improvement within a healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Tableau) and health informatics systems.
- Strong knowledge of VHA policies, OAA regulations, and accreditation processes.
- Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
